Yellow Bellied Marmot

The Yellow Bellied Marmot aka Rockchuck.

This was my first experience with the marmot, a big blur of fur.

After following the marmot for awhile i discovered their home.

Notice there are two marmots in this photo. The full grown in the front and the younger one in the back.

The Yellow Bellied Marmot is cousins to the more familiar groundhog.

Albion Basin

Generally you spot marmots sunbathing.

Their habitats are high altitude and rocky.

Can you spot waldo?

Once you spot one of these guys you end up seeing them everywhere.

Antelope Island Buffalo

There is nothing too difficult about finding a Buffalo. In Utah there are only three places you can find them Antelope Island, Book Cliffs, and Henry Mountains.

The difficulty is getting a the buffalo to look up or turn your way. A good 95% of the time you are looking at there butt with there head down eating grass.

The herd on Antelope Island came from 12 Bison taken from a herd in Texas.
